A captivating Indigenous language open mic session moderated by Chelsea T. Hicks, showcasing poets Claire Collins, Talee Redcorn, Sarah-Joy Milner and Carmen Wiley. Elisa Harkins will deliver an Indigenous language pop performance following the poets. Ticketed SOLD OUT event.

Join writers Amber McCrary, Manny Loley, Beth Piatote, and Aimee Inglis as they share Indigenous language creative work. Bring a poem, song or some creative writing to share.

Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at AWP in Kansas City

5:30-7 p.m. Reading at Bliss Books and Wine, 3502 Gillham Road, Kansas City, MO.

Words of the People presents ten Indigenous writers who will share work written in their Indigenous languages, with translations. This event is free and open to the public.

Participating authors’ books will be available for pre-order.
