WTP encourages you to learn more about each of these Native people, and their work.
For those who would like to read Indigenous language writing, here is a link to order books available from Bliss Books and Wine in Kansas City, Missouri. Additionally, please see The Diné Reader and chapbooks by both Amber McCrary and Nicola Andrews (whose book is out now, a recent 2024 release).
With the help of AWP, NDN Girls Book Club, Abalone Mountain Press, Indigenous Nations Poets, Haskell Library, and Bliss Books and Wine–who all spread the word and supported Indigenous language writing–we were able to share the power of engaging with ancestral Indigenous languages, and together we received and shared inspiration.
We can get to where we want to be with our languages, which can help us to protect land. For those wanting to spend more time with their languages, here is one option to help you move forward.
