Tribal Poetics Panel: Happening Tonight

Hello,

This is a reminder to listen in to the panel discussion tonight held at Whitty Books in Tulsa at 7 p.m. CST.

In-Na-Po (Indigenous Nations Poets) Fellow Aimee Inglis will ask poets and singers of her own tribe questions which pertain to the development of their poetics, including queries around writing poems with their tribal language. A reading is to follow.

Thursday, Oct. 19 (Tonight)

Panel on tribal poetics, 7-9 p.m. Whitty Books, located at 2306 E Admiral Blvd, Tulsa, OK 74110.

A gathering at Whitty Books focused on the development of tribally-grown poetics through panel and readings. The panel will discuss the experience of being an Osage poet/songwriter, then open things up for all to share poetry, songs and words at an open mic. All are invited to attend this gathering to share with Osages and allied poets and singers. There is also a livestream and you can register at the link below. This link below is for the 7-9 p.m. event tonight on 10/19/23.

Currently, if you are at the Philbrook museum looking for the workshop, you can find us in the Philbrook Museum Gardens (Cost: admission into Philbrook) at the Karl Unnasch reclaimed log cabin, “Slugmullion.” To find the cabin, enter the gardens and make a right at the bottom near the rotunda. Cross the creek and find us in the cabin.

Thank you,

Words of the People
